WHEN WATER CONTAINING TOXIC CHEMICALS IS ADDED TO THE BIOCHIP, THE PHYSICAL STRUCTURE OF THE CELLS CHANGE IN WAYS THAT WE CAN MEASURE ELECTRICALLY; INSIDE THE INSTRUMENT, A DETECTION ALGORITHM COMPARES THE CONTROL AND TEST SAMPLE WITH HISTORICAL DATA TO DETERMINE IF THE SAMPLE IS TOXIC.
